As the globe’s most innovative fashion show producer, it isn’t surprising celebrity model and entrepreneur Jessica Minh Anh is the creative force behind the world’s first sustainable ocean catwalk. Jessica, who has revolutionised global runways with extraordinary visual concepts and powerful messages, is transforming Costa Cruises’s new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)-powered flagship, Costa Toscana, into a sky-high ocean catwalk. Set against the beautiful, cinematic backdrop of Portofino, Italy, J Spring Fashion Show 2022, taking place on February 28, will deliver a message of sustainability and style, while celebrating a historic milestone in the fashion world and the cruise industry.
For this show, the Vietnamese advocate for renewable energy in the new age is combing three of her famous catwalk series, namely “Fashion x Sustainability,” a series she started in 2015, “Catwalk-On-Water” and “Sky-High,” into one spectacular extravaganza. Global media and VIPs will be able to see what participating brands from five continents have on offer in haute couture and ready-to-wear.
Jessica’s previous catwalks have included Paul Costelloe, Montblanc, Yumi Katsura, Ziad Nakad, Shiatzy Chen and Tony Ward, so there will undoubtedly be some exciting labels participating in the unique event. Additionally, the red-carpet experience will feature the best in Italian art, architecture, culture, luxury and delicacies alongside the impressive catwalk surrounded by the the Ligurian Riviera.
“This particular moment in history provides an opportunity for a sustainable “restart” of our society. Costa Toscana aligns perfectly with my mission of highlighting sustainability in a visually attractive way,” Jessica, who represents a new wave of creative entrepreneurs, said. “It runs by Liquefied Natural Gas, one of the most advanced technologies to reduce emissions right now. It represents a breakthrough in the travel industry. I am honoured to celebrate the resurgence of business and style on such a unique ship.”
J Spring Fashion Show 2022 is Jessica’s come-back catwalk after the phenomenal success of “Runway on the Runway” which took place at JFK international airport in February 2020. Working with DHL, the supermodel-turned-entrepreneur promoted the globally sustainable supply chain. More “Fashion x Sustainability” feats include successfully promoting green technology at GemaSOLAR power plant in Spain and hydroelectric power on top of America’s Hoover Dam. Plus, endorsing “Waste-to-Wealth” practices in the Maldives and Race For Water solar-wind-hydro powered vessel alongside bioGreen technology in Malaysia are other ways the series has highlighted green logistics solutions across the five continents.
Jessica's other history-making catwalks include “Sky-High” phenomena on the Eiffel Tower, Tower Bridge, Grand Canyon Skywalk, where she broke the record for the world’s highest fashion show, and Petronas Twin Towers’ Skybridge. The 34-year-old is also known for her iconic “Ocean Catwalk” series, which has taken place in Sydney, Dubai, Paris, New York and Hong Kong. The fashion capitals Paris and New York have also been chosen for her “Catwalk-On-Water” events.
A TEDx keynote speaker, Jessica has consistently inspired a highly engaged new generation of leaders with her resolute focus on reinvention, cultural incorporation and technological progress.
