It's time to mark your calendar because Saudi Arabia is set to host the largest tech event in the Kingdom. LEAP's inaugural event will be held at the Riyadh Front Expo Center, bringing together speakers and exhibitions from around the world. It is set to run from February 1 - 3, 2022.
Currently, over 400 speakers are expected to attend across six conferences, which include international trailblazers such as co-founder of Kaspersky Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Ericsson Borje Ekholm, founder of Dell Michael S. Dell, rotating chairman of Huawei Guo Ping, CEO of Saudi Venture Capital Company Nabeel Koshak, founder of House of Mandela Family Foundation Dr. Makaziwe Mandela, among others.
In addition, LEAP will be hosting over 700 exhibitors from international tech companies. Current sponsors include STC, Ericsson, Cisco, Huawei, Microsoft, Zoom, and more.
LEAP is organized by Informa PLC in association with the Saudi Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MICT), and the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP). Going by the theme "One Eye on the Stars," the goal of the event is to emphasize the importance of having industries stay up-to-date with technology, hence the importance to make the "leap" into the future.

In fact, Saudi Arabia is setting itself as a regional destination for tech companies, as well as providing necessary skills to eager youths. Currently, the Kingdom is implementing its $1.2 billion initiatives to empower its youths in the tech industry, which were first announced at an event held by the SAFCSP in August 2021. By 2030, over 100,000 youths are expected to receive necessary training in all things tech.
