The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has recently launched a new initiative to make our furry four legged friends feel welcome that has made a variety of hotels, restaurants, beaches and more, dog friendly!
The initiative is called “Ras Al K9” and runs across 25 hotels, restaurants, pet-friendly festivals and wadis across the Emirate so you can staycay and vaycay with your pet!
Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), said in a statement about the exciting initiative, “Ras Al Khaimah’s natural typography alongside its spirit of genuine hospitality appeals to both travelers and their four-legged friends. We understand how hard it can be to leave a beloved pet at home while on holiday so we made it as easy as possible for guests to bring their pawsome family members with them.”
Some of the most exciting outings for your dogs include Desert Adventures, which offers up experiences across 10 acres of desert dunes and the Hajar Mountains, all whilst you glamp under the stars. Your doggies are also offered water bowls, fenced perimeters, tennis balls and doggy ice cream provided by the glamping team.
The initiative also recommends that dog owners and their canines visit the open-air dog park at RAK’s Animal Welfare Center which hosts an array of fun activities your pet can enjoy alongside socializing with other dogs. They even have a swimming pool and an equipped agility park just for your good boys and girls!
You and your pets can also enjoy a modern Japanese eating experience at Ruzo. Its outdoor dining areas are all dog friendly and is situated along Flamingo Beach. Al Hamra’s Clubhouse also welcomes dogs and their owners in their restaurants including Tuscano Coffee, Marina Muse and Bread & Barrel.
The emirate also has some exciting events in store as it makes history by hosting its first pet-friendly festival on Marjan Island this month on February 26th, as well as Ras Al Khaimah’s Fine Arts Festival. Running from February 18th – 20th, the festival will be dog inclusive with a range of activities including yoga and if you don’t have a pet, you can even adopt one!
Ras Al Khaimah is a real treat for dog owners and their pets to enjoy a fun break together!
