Fatmah Al-Rashid is the head of strategy at the Saudi-based King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) with experience in interior architecture. She's also known for helping the Kingdom found its first creativity forum, and establishing FABLAB Dhahran, the first fabrication lab in the Eastern Province. As a child, Al-Rashid grew up in the Saudi city of Khobar, and to supporting parents who taught her that she could achieve anything as long as she set her sights on it. As she got older, she attended the College of Architecture & Planning, and King Faisal University in Dammam where she obtained her degrees in architecture.
Al-Rashid would start her career through Saudi Aramco where she worked under Aramco’s Design Group. In fact, her mother played a crucial role by applying on her behalf. During her time with the Saudi-based oil company, she was involved in developing community projects as a way to give back to society.
In 2018, Al-Rashid established Ithra where she currently serves as head of strategy. The think tank was initially founded as part of Saudi Aramco's original vision to be an ambitious initiative for the public, acting as a leading cultural and creative destination for talent development and cross-cultural experiences. Al-Rashid originally contributed her expertise in architecture and, by 2021, Ithra would carry out research on cultural and creative industries across major cities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Of course, Al-Rashid had also made other contributions in Saudi Arabia such as launching FABLAB's Khobar branch in the Eastern Province. In addition, she played a role in launching the Kingdom's first creativity forum, and the Keystone Program in 2009.
