Procter & Gamble (P&G) Middle East FZE launched its Women Entrepreneurs Academy with industry-wide training for 20 high-level female executives and business owners in the UAE.
The coaching event took place from March 7-9 in P&Gs MENA Innovation Centre Dubai offices in collaboration with WEConnect International as part of an ongoing commitment to equality and inclusion.
A unique initiative in the UAE, the P&G Women Entrepreneurs Academy programme calls female business-owners based in the emirates to participate in competitive training opportunities ahead of industry-wide digitisation, helping to boost the American multi-national consumer goods corporation’s efforts to create an inclusive, gender-equal environment. The first event offered a total of eight training sessions across leadership and key skillsets necessary to achieve greater pitch delivery, procurement, digitisation, business strategy and long-term growth and concluded with a graduation ceremony and networking session on the last day.
Omar Channawi, CEO P&G Middle East, Global Entrepreneurial Markets and Sub Sahara Africa & Asia Pacific Middle East & Africa Sales and Cara Nazari, AmCham Dubai Managing Director, inaugurated the opening ceremony. Rohit Batra, Senior Director MEA Purchases, Procter & Gamble, was also in attendance.

“It is a great honour to be opening such an ambitious and timely programme ahead of International Women’s Day. At P&G, we believe that we can be a Force for Good and Force for Growth in the world around us every day. We have committed to creating a more equitable world for our employees, with our brands, through our partners, and in our communities both internally and externally,” Channawi told the participants. “The UAE is also effectively leading regional efforts in gender equality in the public and private sectors alike and the Women Entrepreneurs Academy is a token to that determination.”
The region’s head also thanked their one-of-a-kind programme associates WEConnect International and the P&G trainers. He said the coaches aim to help female entrepreneurs make headway and give them a chance to excel.
