The festive-worthy shoes in Dima Ayad’s collaboration with Malone Souliers may have been launched during Ramadan, but the fun, head-turning yet functional shoes are a must-own for any special gathering this season. The special capsule collection, available exclusively at Level Shoes District, includes shimmering sparkles, glittering gold and a strking colour palette (think rainbow metallics and regal green), all capable of lighting up any outfit. The collection, which comes in the eclectic and unapologetically British footwear brand’s luxury materials, also naturally includes touches Ayad is famous for. The Lebanese designer has embellished some of the six designs with her signature pleats and colours and iincorporated the multi-functional allure she does so well.
The striking, timeless staples are inspired by Ayad’s “Faith” collection, which she created for the Holy Month. And the Dubai-based designer didn’t shy away from adding her special touch while introducing a new take on house favourites like “Maureen,” “Norah,” “Perla” and “Frankie.”
“This collaboration is a dream come true. I have always admired the Malone Souliers brand and the timeless elegance of its designs,” Ayad, who founded her namesake brand in 2010, said. “There is so much synergy between us in terms of staying true to our aesthetic, which translated into a natural partnership.”
The Founder and Creative Director of Malone Souliers, Mary Alice Malone, was also quick to compliment Ayad’s work. “I have always been inspired by the sophistication of Dima’s aesthetic. The colours, materials and textures that she uses for her creations are something I wanted to translate into our collaboration,” she said.
The iconic flat “Norah” mules have been designed in multi-coloured metallic leather and feature the luxury brand’s signature slender straps, making them the perfect party shoe. The same model also comes in the ultimate nude coloured fabric, with the straps appearing in a gold hue. Meanwhile, for heel-loving revellers, the “Norah” mules come in a metallic pleated emerald green fabric. With a chunky heel, sculptural sides and those signature straps, they will ensure you’ll get noticed. High heel enthusiasts also have the option of the “Maureen” mules, which come in joyous multi-coloured metallic and also have the classic dual straps.
Another pair that’s perfect for donning with your favourite party attire is the square-toed “Perla” mules. Three straps meet atop the foot’s bridge, embraced by Malone Souliers’ classic leather and a glitter-speckled mesh upper. Additionally, the “Frankie” mules have two signature rose gold straps that cross the foot at the bridge and the style’s V-cut upper. With a low stiletto heel and pleated pointed-toe silhouette, this satin rendition comes in a gorgeous and feminine blush pink.
