Saudi Arabia, represented by King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Ministry of Education, won 6 different prizes at the International Scientific and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2022 in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, in America. The event took place from May 7th-13th 2022, and it was the 16th time in a row that Saudi students had participated in the annual competition.
The participants won in the following categories, Abdullah Al-Ghamdi won two prizes in energy; Dana Al-Aithan awarded a prize in chemistry; Tahani Adel in materials; Maria Al-Ghamdi in chemistry; and Yousef Khoja in CD systems.
Mawhiba announced 19 winners of its special prizes from all over the world, and three Saudi students, of six, were also awarded scholarships to participate in Mawhiba international enrichment program. Thirteen students from America, China, and India were too granted scholarships to study at King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals.
As part of their participation in this year’s competition, the Saudi students installed project signboards in the exhibition, took part in workshops and trained alongside the female Saudi student that went on to win the Broadcom Master awards.
