Is Dubai's hot weather wearing you down? Is the beach too hot to handle? Then, why not go for a cool swim in the world's deepest swimming pool? Deep Dive Dubai is a new addition to a growing list of sporting facilities in the UAE, with a Guinness World Record for the deepest depth measuring over 60 meters. It is situated in Nad Al Sheba, which is 15 minutes from Downtown Dubai.
This isn't an ordinary swimming pool however, as it is made to resemble a sunken city. With great attention to detail, divers may notice urban features such as buildings, sidewalks, streetlights, and even automobiles. Essentially, Deep Dive aims to immerse divers into what resembles a dystopian urban landscape or, basically, a modern version of Atlantis.
It would be impossible to explore the entire swimming pool in a short period of time, as it is designed to cater to both casual and experienced divers. In fact, Deep Dive has three packages based on one's diving skill: Discover, which is for beginners; Dive, which is for certified divers; and Develop, which is for both beginners and certified divers.
Furthermore, Deep Dive also hosts workshops with a lineup of speakers and diving experts sharing their expertise at conferences. This also includes providing hands-on training and scuba diving. In fact, PADI is one of Dubai's popular training centers to have shared their expertise through Deep Dive.
If all that wasn’t enough, here are some other interesting facts to know about Deep Dive Dubai. Being over 60 meters in depth, the swimming pool consists of 14 million liters of water, and it is equipped with a state-of-the-art purification system. It also has a total of 56 cameras assuring the safety of divers. In fact, the facility was established to pay tribute to the UAE's pearl-diving heritage, as the Gulf nation was known for its pearl merchants and how they would dive into the sea in search of pearls.
