French luxury fashion maison, Chanel’s Paris runway show looked rather diverse as Arab models, Nora Attal and Nour Rizk, walked for the label’s Spring-Summer 2023 presentation. Donning a variety of looks, emerging Lebanese model, Rizk, was seen sporting a ruffled halter neck top paired with tailored knee-length shorts and adorned with pearl and jeweled waist belts, whilst British Moroccan model, Attal’s look was a ruffled buttoned mini dress with a sailor collar in white.
Designed by Chanel creative director, Virginie Viard, the collection was comprised of 71 pieces.
Nora Attal has been a popular face at Paris fashion week as she walked for luxury fashion label, Lanvin and Hermes. At Lanvin, after having been a rather dormant label for a few years, France’s oldest continually operating fashion house has made a stylish comeback with the renewed direction of French designer, Bruno Sialelli. A series of lingerie-like, silk baby doll looks in pastel shades were the highlight at Lanvin and played with the concept of transparencies. The looks were accessorized with bejeweled sheer fabric in the shape of a cloche hat that covered the models’ faces.
Nora Attal walked also walked for Hermes in which the high end label’s artistic director, Nadege Vanhee-Cybulski, took inspiration from the concept of the Burning Man Festival, where swirls of playful shades of coral and pink in sultry off shoulder dresses, against utilitarian touches via parkas, cargo pants, and rope-like lace details merged into a sleek spring and summer collection. Handkerchief hems on sleek dresses, tan suede dresses and coats, and high-neck graphic print silk kaftans were also highlights of the collection.
The runway show was inspired by “a rave in the desert,” according to the show notes as models stormed the catwalk to techno music. Celebrities, influencers and international crowds flooded the French capital for Paris Fashion Week and marked the fashion industry's strong comeback from the COVID-19 pandemic rules and restrictions.
