As part of WWE Week, WWE superstars promoted anti-bullying campaign, Be A Star, where students from King Faisal School attended. The event was held in the Saudi capital and specifically at the Mrsool Park Stadium.
Be A Star’s main objective was to teach the students about how to handle themselves in various social interactions with a focus on emotional and mental health, and how to treat people with respect.
The WWE superstars that were at the event were big names such as Bianca Belair, Damian Priest, Bobby Lashley, Titus O’Neil, and Rhea Ripley. They played games and exercises with the students that consisted of the ins and outs of emotional intelligence especially when it came to hard moments in childhood, such as bullying. The games helped the kids identify their emotions, express them, and learn how to help one another, and most importantly to help themselves.
Titus O’Neil spoke to Arab News about how important it is to help the student manage their feelings, “When you know how you feel, you know how you can respond to things, and when you see how other people feel, then you have a chance to have a conversation with them and make them feel better.”
Bianca Belair also talked about the importance of the campaign, purposely with mental health being the focal point of how the new generation is being raised, “We want to encourage the kids not to be bullies and to be the best version of themselves and treat each other with respect and treat themselves with respect. The kids were so amazing today; they were able to express their feelings and emotions, and they know how to channel their emotions,” she said.
This event was part of a bigger bullying prevention program that encourages young people all over the world to treat each other with respect. The program was launched in 2011, and since then more than 150 events were held, and the resources yielded from the program have helped more than half a million kids around the world.
