Osama Marwah, a Saudi Arabian social media star has been nominated for the “Favorite Arab Star” award, which honors talents from the Middle East and North Africa, at the 2023 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.
After the announcement earlier this week, Osama Marwah took to Instagram to thank his 4.2million followers, “When we were younger, we watched Nickelodeon. Today, we are among the nominees. Thank God. If it wasn’t for God and you, we wouldn’t be anything. Good luck to my creative friends who are also nominated.”
Marwah is much loved and best known for his vlogs and prankster tricks, and is up against Syrian comedian and social media personality Amro Maskoun, Jordanian YouTuber Raghda Kouyoumdjian much loved for her comedy skits and lip sync videos and Rozzah, a 19-year-old Jordanian content creator with over 4 million followers.
The awards ceremony is expected to take place on 4th March 2023 and will air in the region on 7th March at 4:00 p.m. (Saudi time). The event will also be available to watch on OSN+ from 8th March onwards.
CBS Sports Analyst Nate Burleson and social media star Charli D’Amelio will be hosting the awards show.
In a released statement, D’Amelio said “I got slimed at the KCAs in 2021, saw my sister get slimed at last year’s show and now, no one is safe with me as co-host!” She added, “Nate and I will make sure this year’s show is full of unexpected slime shots, impressive dances and surprise tricks along the way.”
D'Amelio is an American social media personality who began her social media career in 2019 when she started posting dance videos on the video-sharing platform TikTok. She quickly amassed a large following and subsequently became the most-followed creator on the platform in March 2020.
She also made her feature film debut with a voice role in the 2020 animated film StarDog and TurboCat. Since 2021, she has starred in the Hulu docuseries, The D'Amelio Show and the Snap Original reality show Charli vs. Dixie. She is the first person to earn both 50 million and 100 million followers on TikTok. D'Amelio was the highest-earning TikTok female personality in 2019 and the highest-earning personality on the app in 2022, according to Forbes. She is often described as TikTok's biggest star.
First-time nominees for this year’s edition include Jenna Ortega, Jack Harlow, GAYLE, Joji, Nicky Youre and Letitia Wright, among others. “Stranger Things” has amassed the most nominations with six, followed by “That Girl Lay Lay,” “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” and “The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder” with four nominations each.
Fans around the world can now cast their votes across 31 categories on the official Kids’ Choice Awards website, with an additional 32 international categories available in regions around the world.
