First, let’s talk about the location: the festival will in a historic town located in Riyadh. If you didn’t know before, Diriyah was actually the first capital of the kingdom, and was home to the Saudi royal family. The architecture is insane, the people are the friendliest, and just the whole narrative of the history of the place is exciting.
Now for the actual event: people will get together to try out BMX freestyle, parkour, skateboarding, and breakdance, making it the ultimate urban destination. And in between the sports, there will be a line-up of DJs and performances happening to keep the crowd entertained.
All the ramp you will see in the city were custom built for the event, and will happen at the Elite Sports Center.
They have a detailed program breakdown of all the days of the festival so you can attend your favorite sports and performances. Riders still have not been announced, but we’ve been tirelessly refreshing that page so we can get to see our favorite athletes.
What is really cool about this festival is the emphasis on the design that the management has also placed. The logo of the festival is thought to be “A representation of stories and values.”
Different motifs taken from the locale were integrated into the design of the logo. Namely, the Najd architecture and design that dominates the historic town, the outlines of the hills that engulf the Diriyah Valley, the D of Diriyah additionally was used, and sandy / beige color that resembles both the ancient buildings and the Elite Sports Center area.
