King Abdullah and Queen Rania will witness the first of two marriages this year when their eldest daughter, Princess Iman, marries Jameel Thermiotis on Sunday. The queen, who wed King Abdullah II in 1993, shared a heartfelt homage to Princess Iman on Instagram, chronicling her life from newborn pictures through wedding dress fittings!
In one of the last pictures, the royal is seen leaning against a wall, wearing a white jacket and matching over-the-knee boots. On the floor in front of her are cascading folds of tulle that appear to be her daughter's cathedral-length veil.
Princess Iman was also seen in another image wearing her mother's exquisite diamond tiara. On her royal wedding day, Queen Rania defied convention and wore a dramatic beaded hairband around her stunning twisted bun rather than a tiara. It is unknown if her oldest daughter would follow suit or not.
The Jordanian royal took to Instagram once again to share some pre-wedding snaps from her daughter's henna party, a unique event where the bride customarily has mehndi or henna paint applied to her hands and feet.
Princess Iman, 26, looked stunning that evening while wearing a white long-sleeved gown by Reema Dahbour with intricate embroidery to lend a hint of texture. A gorgeous, meaningful belt that was initially worn by her mother Queen Rania on her own wedding day served as the waistband for her outfit. The princess, who resembled her mother to a tee, wore a broad, white belt by Bruce Oldfield that was decorated with floral-themed designs.
Queen Rania, meanwhile, elected to wear deep red for the henna celebration - as did Rajwa Al Saif, who will marry Crown Prince Hussein on 1 June.
With a burgundy floor-length princess-cut gown, Queen Rania radiated her signature elegance. The crimson garment had a V-shaped neckline, three-quarter length sleeves, and a geometric trim all around. Her light pink under-layer could be seen through the fitting bodice of the dress, which spread out into a center split.
Princess Iman's much anticipated wedding dress won't be seen by admirers until wedding photos are made public. And if Princesws Iman's engagement photos are any indication, she will choose a straightforward, sophisticated look for her wedding. The fashion-forward Princess' favorite designers include Bottega Veneta, Roksanda and Alexander McQueen.
