The first exhibition, ‘Picturing the Cosmos,’ will be held at the Children’s Museum starting from July 18, 2023, until June 2025. The exhibition will explore the representation of space in art throughout history, highlighting the fascination of humans with the cosmos and its symbolism. It aims to encourage young visitors to develop the observational and analytical skills necessary for space exploration in the future.
The second exhibition, ‘Letters of Light,’ will begin on September 13, 2023, and run until January 14, 2024. It will delve into the sacred scriptures of the three Abrahamic religions, namely the Christian Bible, the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh), and the Quran. The exhibition will examine the historical context of these books' creation, the related academic, mystical, and talismanic practices, as well as their enormous contribution to the history of art and thought. Additionally, the exhibition will underscore the ethical dimension and universal messages of the Quranic, biblical, and evangelical texts, while emphasizing on the shared figures and episodes of all three religions.
‘Cartier,’ Islamic Inspiration, and Modern Design will be the third exhibition, which will run between November 15, 2023, and March 24, 2024. With over 500 exhibits such as jewelry, Islamic masterpieces, photographs, and archival documents, the upcoming exhibition will showcase Cartier's designs' influence from Islamic art. The exhibition is a new rendition of a traveling exhibition shown last year at Musee des Arts Decoratifs and Dallas Museum of Art.
The fourth exhibition, ‘Art Here 2023,’ will take place outdoors and under the dome for the first time, between November 21, 2023, and February 2024. It will present works by artists shortlisted for the third Richard Mille Art Prize. The theme of this year's prize is Transparencies, and artists from the UAE and GCC are invited to apply until May 31. The show will provide artists the chance to display their work at one of the most prestigious venues.
The final major exhibition of the year will be ‘Fables from East and West: from Kalila wa Dimna to the Fables of La Fontaine,’ which will begin on March 20, 2024. The show will look at the origins, development, and translation of animal stories from one language to another throughout antiquity, inspiring a large number of new works in both the East and the West.
