The highly acclaimed and much-awaited stage musical "Hamilton" is set to make its debut in the United Arab Emirates in January 2024. The grand production is being brought to the Middle East by Proactiv Entertainment, the team behind the successful "The Lion King" musical tour held in Abu Dhabi in November 2022.
The award-winning musical, with its captivating and ground-breaking fusion of hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway, has taken the world by storm since its debut on Broadway in 2015. It tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America's founding fathers, through an innovative lens that explores the themes of legacy, ambition, love, and the power of storytelling.
Fans of the musical in the Middle East can now look forward to experiencing this masterpiece in person at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The musical will be staged there from 17th January to 4th February 2024.
In anticipation of the upcoming event, the Etihad Arena took to Instagram to share the news and revealed that further details about the show and ticket sales will be announced on 9th May 2023. The venue's announcement playfully alluded to one of the musical's most popular songs, "My Shot," with the caption, "Don't throw away your shot."
"Hamilton" has been on an international tour, with performances already held in Auckland and Manila, and "additional cities to be announced soon." The show's creator, Lin Manuel-Miranda, who played the lead role in the original Broadway production, himself announced the Philippines tour in March this year.
