Scheduled to run from September 28th to October 7th, this grand event, initiated by the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, will unfold at its new headquarters at King Saud University. Over 200 events encompassing lectures, poetry readings, and workshops are set to captivate attendees.
A significant segment of the fair will cater to young readers, while musical performances and both domestic and foreign theatrical productions are anticipated highlights.
With the theme "An Inspiring Destination," this fair is set to be the largest of its kind in the Kingdom and the entire Arab world, showcasing an unmatched diversity of cultural programs and a wide spectrum of activities.
Historically, these fairs have witnessed enthusiastic participation from publishing houses, cultural institutions, and organizations, presenting their publications and titles to a vast audience of over a million visitors. International publishers have graced these events with valuable offerings, including rare books, artwork, and manuscripts.
This year, the "Book Talk" segment will bring intellectuals and authors to debate current cultural issues and spark lively discussions. A dedicated space for book signings will provide readers with the unique opportunity to meet their favorite authors in person.
In a bid to nurture Saudi talent, the fair will reserve a corner for self-published writers, showcasing a rich collection of more than 400 titles. Additionally, for the first time, a poetry recitation competition targeting children will be conducted, promoting the art of poetry composition and recitation.
The award ceremony at the fair will recognize excellence in publishing across five categories, with winners receiving a translation grant generously provided by the fair's partner, ROSHN real estate development company.
Marking another significant event, an International Publishers Conference is scheduled for October 4th, rounding out the fair's rich and diverse offerings.
