Following its highly successful debut earlier this year, Dubai Fashion Week is set to return for the Spring/Summer 2024 season, coinciding with the conclusion of Paris Fashion Week. Co-founded by the Arab Fashion Council and Dubai Design District, Dubai Fashion Week is poised to showcase the epitome of fashion and artistic expression from the region, officially cementing its place on the international fashion calendar alongside major fashion capitals like New York, London, Milan, and Paris.
Scheduled to run from October 9th to 15th, 2023, this event is expected to draw the most stylish and trend-conscious attendees from both the local area as well as elsewhere. Besides showcasing well-known regional designers like Michael Cinco, Lama Jouni, Mrs. Keepa, and others, this year's edition will also include a presentation of a Carolina Herrera collection designed by Wes Gordon on the Dubai runway.
Khadija Al Bastaki, Dubai Design District's Senior VP, noted that Dubai Fashion Week's debut was a remarkable entry onto the global fashion scene. She highlighted Carolina Herrera's involvement, emphasizing Dubai's rising importance as a global fashion hub. Dubai Fashion Week, she stated, plays a key role in showcasing regional talent and delivering innovative fashion experiences.
The IGDS World Department Store Summit, the largest global gathering for department store leaders and associates, will coincide with fashion week in the Middle East on October 11-12.
Highlights include the Designers Showroom, providing a space for buyers, shoppers, and media to explore designers' artistry.
Dubai Fashion Week will feature the Graduate Fashion Foundation, showcasing emerging talent from over 30 universities worldwide.
Additionally, the FAD Institute will showcase students' work, and Italian school Polimoda will present a runway show and launch a competition for a Polimoda scholarship in collaboration with the AFC.
