BIRKENSTOCK 1774, the German heritage brand’s special projects and collaboration unit and Tekla, the Copenhagen-based homeware brand, are proud to introduce their first collaboration together.
The collaboration is born of a mutual appreciation of quality, reflecting the brands’ shared values of craftsmanship, and marks a significant milestone for both: BIRKENSTOCK explores the realm of apparel and Tekla takes its first step into the world of footwear. Footwear and sleepwear are crafted in high-quality materials using BIRKENSTOCK’s iconic silhouettes and Tekla’s distinct approach to colour, giving the appearance of being “dipped in colour”.
BIRKENSTOCK’s iconic Nagoya slip-on clog and Uji sandal are updated with elevated details – like elongated straps on the shoes’ overlap fastening detail and hand stitching – and premium materials. Footwear is crafted in a balanced palette of subtle and saturated block colourways taken from Tekla’s colour universe.
The footwear collection introduces four monochromatic colourways in Slate, Straw, Mauve and Powder, used across a material mix to give a serene, “dipped in colour” finish. BIRKENSTOCK’s distinctive cork footbed is covered in soft shearling for added comfort, finished with a smooth Nappa leather heel wrap. All shoes are made in Germany and come in a tonal, poplin pillow sham-style dust bag and co-branded shoe box made from recycled paper.
