Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the US, Princess Reema bint Bandar, is set to chair the prestigious International Women in Defense program. This initiative, part of the upcoming World Defense Show in Riyadh from February 4-8, aims to elevate and celebrate women's roles in the defense sector.
Under the patronage of King Salman, the program stands as a testament to the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing women's participation in various sectors, particularly defense and security. Princess Reema, at the helm of this program, underscored the significance of Saudi Vision 2030 in the advancement and success of women across different fields. Vision 2030's emphasis on integrating women into the Saudi labor market has been pivotal in their career growth and development.

"These programs reflect the Saudi government’s commitment to empowering women and increasing their participation globally," Princess Reema stated. The Women in Defense program offers a unique platform for women to amplify their success and explore further opportunities in the defense sector.
The program will bring together executive directors and female leaders from various countries, providing a stage to showcase women's achievements, address ongoing challenges, and delve into their global contributions to the defense industry.
Andrew Pearcey, CEO of the World Defense Show, highlighted that the event would also focus on the growth of small and medium-sized Saudi enterprises and startups. It aims to showcase local talents and innovative ideas in the defense sector, underlining Saudi Arabia's position as one of the leading spenders in the global defense market.
The inaugural show in 2022 was a landmark event, bringing together 600 exhibitors from 42 countries in the fields of defense and security, and witnessed deals worth SR29.7 billion ($7.9 billion). The upcoming event, with its focus on women's empowerment and showcasing local innovation, is poised to further elevate Saudi Arabia's role in the global defense landscape.
