Arab models radiated in Marseille, France, as Loli Bahia, hailing from French Algerian roots, Nora Attal, representing British Moroccan heritage, and Amira Al-Zuhair, with a part-Saudi background, took center stage at the Chanel Cruise 2024/2025 showcase.
Bahia showcased a verdant attire consisting of a knee-length pencil skirt and a coordinated top, layered over a white shirt with a scuba-style hood, with black ballerinas. Attal exuded elegance in a pristine white dress embellished with delicate gossamer geometric patterns, paired with white slippers, and accessorized with beach-inspired necklaces, a slim chain belt, and bracelets with nautical motifs and Chanel insignias. Meanwhile, Al-Zuhair radiated in a vibrant yellow three-piece ensemble, featuring a button-down top and matching cardigan, along with a pair of belted shorts, accented by a beige hat, a gilded choker with azure detailing, dangling earrings, a chain belt, and classic slingbacks.
Virginie Viard, the Creative Director, unveiled a collection at the show with oceanic-inspired ensembles, featuring intricate embroideries, dazzling sequined jackets, and swimwear. The lineup comprised knee-length Bermuda shorts, high-waisted shorts, billowy trapeze dresses, and voluminous outerwear, demonstrating Viard's skillful layering techniques, utilizing shirt collars, French cuffs, and jackets in innovative ways.
Earlier, Chanel previewed Viard's collection on Instagram, sharing images captured by British photographer Jamie Hawkesworth, showcasing Bahia. These seaside and scuba diving-inspired photographs offered a glimpse into the collection, featuring Bahia in various ensembles. In one striking image, she shone in a glittering black sequined mini skirt and blazer, while in another, she sported the green ensemble from the runway, the hoodie of the white shirt enveloping her head. She was also photographed in a white one-piece swimsuit embellished with a black bow. The series further depicted Bahia in various outfits, including a vibrant white dress with colorful geometric motifs, fitted shorts paired with a blazer, and a striped ensemble with a full-length skirt and coordinated top.
