Dubai, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi have become metropolitan oases in the Middle East. Just take a walk in any tourist area and you’ll hear at least five different languages being spoken by visitors, who travel from across the world to experience life in the region.
If you took a moment to think about it, you could try to guess which cities most of the tourists are from, but you’d probably be wrong. To save you the trouble, the report showed the places where people are the most keen on visiting some of the region’s biggest cities.
Taking the top spot for Dubai visitors, Doha sent about 1.1 million of its people to the emirate, who spent $1.1 billion while they were there. Londoners were also excited to see the record-breaking city, with just under 1 million of them visiting. Determined not to be outdone by Doha, they spent almost $4 billion – so each Londoner dropped a lot more cash than visitors from Doha did.
