Saudi Woman Becomes Managing Director of Babson Global Center

Achievements by Saudi women continue to make headlines, this week with the appointment of Amal Dokhan as Managing Director of The Babson Global Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (BGCEL) at Prince Muhammad Bin Salman College of Business and Entrepreneurship (MBSC). According to the Babson Global website, Dokhan will be responsible “for the strategic direction, tactical execution, and operational oversight of the Center.”

Babson Global is a subsidiary of Babson College, “the world´s leader in entrepreneurship education for over a decade […] collaborating with Lockheed Martin, under the Saudi Economic Offset Program, and the Prince Mohammad Bin Salman College (MBSC) at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), to design, build, and operate an entrepreneurship center in KAEC. The purpose of the center is to provide students and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills necessary to launch and expand business ventures, and to invigorate their entrepreneurial spirit with new ideas.”

According to the Saudi Gazette, Dokhan “was selected by Babson Global after a worldwide search for the most qualified expert for the role, among candidates from Europe, the United States and Australia.”

 “We are extremely pleased that we have found not only the best qualified candidate, but also one who will bring considerable local knowledge and experience to this role to achieve the nation’s goals,” said Dr. Shahid Ansari, CEO of Babson Global.

Before this appointment, Dokhan has contributed years of industry expertise and business acumen to a number of key organizations. She has a diverse range of experience in management, teaching, training, and marketing related roles, particularly in education.

Over the last four years, she has had multiple leading roles at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, managing the university startup accelerator, its program design, sponsor engagement, and startup mentorship, as well as establishing corporate innovation programs and advanced level courses at the Entrepreneurship Center.

Dokhan also runs her own business, organizing marketing events and offering commercial consultancy to clients including several Dubai government departments.
