Chaumet recently celebrated the first-year anniversary of its regional flagship store located at The Dubai Mall. The event saw guests like Lebanese actress Carmen Bsaibes, Saudi makeup guru Yara Al Namlah and Iraqi influencer Dima Al Sheikhly step into a digital replica of the French maison’s renowned Place Vendôme workshop for a special showing of their latest high jewellery collections. Along with other VIPs, including Dana Al Tuwarish, Diala Makki and and Manaal al Hammadi, editors and clients, they enjoyed the immersive setting and gorgeous views of Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa.
However, the highlight of the reception was undoubtedly the dazzling jewels on show. Chaumet, which has been creating head-turning handmade, as well as custom-made pieces, for over 230 years, showcased some jaw-droppers inspired by the French Empress Joséphine, a long-serving muse. And with tiaras being synonymous with the lux brand (their artisans have painstakingly crafted over 2,000), royal crowns like the exceptional Mélodie Nacréehad to be an integral part of the celebrations. Other pieces included bee-inspired brooches, knockout rings and spellbinding diamond necklaces. While the exquisite, intricately worked jewels have a modern touch, there’s a hint of those grand bygone days.
