World Cancer Day: 4 Ways To Reduce Risk & Stay Healthy

Today is World Cancer Day! It serves us as a reminder to keep our health in check, and do everything we can in terms of prevention. We at About Her are big believers that you can start small with healthy habits to sustain them for as long as possible. We stumbled upon these tips online from the Alvin J. 1. Evaluate your body weight and composition

See where your body fat percentage and weight stand.  If you’re overweight, focus initially on not gaining any more weight. This, by itself, can improve your health. Then, when you’re ready, try to take off some extra pounds for an even greater health boost. It’s crucial to lose weight in a healthy way: integrate physical activity and movement into your life, eat a diet rich in fruits, and vegetables and whole grains, and choose smaller portions and eat more slowly. Bottom line: if you’re keen on bingeing that Netflix show, try to watch the first two episodes on a treadmill.
