Aston Martin, Sir David Adjaye and Lightstone have collaborated to design a limited-edition collection of five one-of-a-kind luxury homes in New York City. The luxury automative manufacturer, renowned architect and one of the US’s largest privately held real estate companies are the dream team behind the deluxe homes in 130 William, the Big Apple’s glorious new high-rise tower. Joining in as executive architect, Hill West Architects is another hefty name that is involved in the project.
The visionary Adjaye is responsible for the general vision of 130 William and designed its iconic exterior architecture, as well as all of the building’s interiors, which includes 242 residences, over 20,000 square feet of amenities and a new plaza park. The 244-metre building with 66 stories makes a bold architectural statement set against the Manhattan skyline. Adjaye, the Founder and Principal of award-winning architectural and design firm Adjaye Associates, was inspired to design a building that embraces New York’s history of masonry architecture. Featuring a custom hand-cast façade with refined bronze detailing, 130 William is a contemporary interpretation of the stonework that characterised classic Manhattan architecture. The silhouette of rhythmic, large-scale arched windows that draw inspiration from the beloved lofts that once populated the area is another signature feature.

Residents will also enjoy a private IMAX movie theatre, golf simulator, resident lounge, club and game room, chef’s catering kitchen with a private dining area and children’s activity centre. In addition, there’s access to a pet spa, outdoor terraces and private rooftop observation deck located at the top of the building.

“It was exciting to find an opportunity to collaborate with the Aston Martin team. The 130 William Aston Martin homes have been touched in a very particular way that merges our design sensibilities. Together with the limited edition SUVs that come with these units, we’ve created a truly unique signature that blends our two disciplines,” said the Ghanaian-British mastermind behind notable buildings like the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. and the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management.

The Homes
Found on the 59th and 60th floors of 130 William, the five fully furnished exclusive homes, including two penthouses, feature a unique and highly distinctive design identity. Each home is furnished with unique visual elements and accessories, hand-crafted materials and textiles and furniture from the acclaimed Aston Martin Home Collection by the Italian manufacturer Formitalia. Plus, there’s a private, expansive outdoor loggia spanning the whole length of the residences, with bespoke screens dividing the balconies into a series of distinct zones for dining and relaxing.

The first interior design elements to catch the eye as one walks in include Aston Martin’s signature crosshatch pattern in a bronze finish. Beneath the bronze detailing is wallpaper designed by Adjaye Associates and a bespoke smoked glass mirror created by Aston Martin Design.
The grand living and dining room highlight furnishings, textiles and fittings curated by Marek Reichman and Adjaye. The living room offers city-wide views, clean lines and sleek furnishings from the Italian-made Aston Martin Home Collection, with the sofas and armchairs combining elements of leather, metal and fabric and beautiful detailing.
Located adjacent to the dining room, the open plan kitchen boasts custom textured blackened oak Italian cabinetry, state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances and marble countertops hand-selected from Tuscany’s Apuan Alps. Plus, the cantilevered Nero Marquina marble top provides additional bar seating.

Moving to another part of the house, the master bedroom offers crisp, clean lines and beautiful detailing, combined with warm, inviting materials to ensure it is a private sanctuary. The bedroom features a sprawling bed with custom cashmere headboard cushions and slender metal detailing, alongside Formitalia bedside and side tables. And while fashion-conscious couples will delight in storing their beloved pieces in the spacious walk-in closets, everyone will find the wall-mounted lighting by Boffi, Flos light track system and lounge chair by Hans Wegner comforting. In the two and three-bedroom homes, buyers have the option of customising one of the rooms into a racing simulator, an office and library space, or a bedroom.

The 130 William Adjaye Special Edition Aston Martin DBX
The owners of the beautiful homes will also be able to travel in style in an Adjaye designed 130 William Adjaye Special Edition Aston Martin DBX, the first Aston Martin car custom-created by an architect.
Adjaye worked with Aston Martin to ensure the highly crafted interiors and custom paintwork on this DBX, the luxury British manufacturer’s first SUV, have a strong synergy with the building’s architecture.
The DBX Special Edition marks the debut of real stone accents, with Grey “Pietra D’Avola” marble inlays matched with Satin Walnut wood. Aston Martin’s traditional hand-stitched leather includes Parliament Green trim and steering wheel from Aston Martin’s in-house customisation service, “Q by Aston Martin,” matching the walls of the simulator room option, and deep, multi-layered paintwork in a Q by Aston Martin bespoke colour inspired by 130 William’s exterior, complete with subtle hints of green. The interior includes carved solid walnut trim, with Q by Aston Martin Parliament Green leatherwork and details in bronze, black anodized aluminium and real stone.
