Giorgio Armani’s collections tell the story of his journey, his sense of autonomy and his independence from transitory trends. And his recent Armani Privé show for Paris Haute Couture Week wasn't an exception. Presented for the first time in Palazzo Orsini, the heart of the storied Italian designer’s Milanese atelier, the presentation offered an array of dreamy looks that pay homage to the Italian fashion capital. These included a pearl-grey shiny tweed jacket with gauzy embroidered trousers, fitted velvet separates and evening dresses like the heavily embroidered sea coloured slip dress and the finale look, an electric-blue frock featuring Fortuny pleating. The show was undoubtedly a delight for beauty lovers as well. While celebrity-loved Armani’s creativity was interpreted in knockout fashion pieces, Linda Cantello translated this vision into make-up.
“The make-up was a combination of the Armani DNA in soft hues to enhance the femininity of the collection and was inspired by the beauty and history of Palazzo Orsini,” the International Make-up Artist at Giorgio Armani Beauty, said in a statement.
While the models walked the mirror-lined, softly opulent gallery, we saw how the force in the make-up industry chose to balance the collection’s colour palette with a neutral beauty look. Cantello, who has a career that spans over three decades, did add a pop of contemporary colour however, by including a hint of neon pink on the lips.
