Cartier has unveiled a new pop-up in Riyadh celebrating its signature emblem, the Panthère. Signaling the French luxury maison’s strong commitment to its community in the Saudi capital, the immersive experience can be enjoyed in Centria Mall.
The Panthère’s heritage has been a source of inspiration for inventive designs across decades. And high fashion loving visitors can meander through an immersive tunnel where floor to ceiling video displays narrate the iconic Panthère de Cartier story, going all the way back to its inception in 1914. Cartier enthusiasts can live through the creative journey and see how the enigmatic motif has been adapted over time, using different crafts and techniques, and developed into jewelry for over a century. They also get to know the creator of the iconic jewel, Jeanne Toussaint, known herself as “La Panthère”. A trailblazer and style icon of the 20th century, Toussaint was behind establishing the panther as a Cartier icon.
In tandem with the exhibition, the latest Panthère de Cartier collection, “Massai,” is being exclusively showcased for the first time in Saudi. The collection includes beautiful bangles and necklaces made of 18-carat curved gold, stemming from the head of a sculptural panther with emerald or tsavorite garnet eyes. And as well as the high jewelry pieces, visitors get to admire a selection of others that are as magnetic as the emblematic animal itself. What’s more, for those who like to stand out from the crowd, there’s an array of bespoke merchandise available exclusively at the pop-up, including specially- designed alphabet postcards, each showcasing unique Panthère creations.
