11 Restaurants In Dubai Have Just Been Awarded Michelin Stars

At a ceremony at the Dubai Opera earlier this week, it was announced that eleven Dubai restaurants have been awarded Michelin stars – with a total of 69 Dubai based dining joints being included in the new Michelin guide. Nine eateries won 1 star each and two were awarded 2 each – none were awarded 3. The restaurants that achieved Michelin status included cuisines such as Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, French and Italian. One Michelin Green Star, which is awarded to restaurants that have a sustainable approach towards their food and processes, was given to modern dining restaurant, Lowe.

Al Muntaha – One Michelin Star

Hoseki – One Michelin Star

Meaning “gemstone” in Japanese, Hōseki is a minimalist dining experience where guests can enjoy a one-of-a-kind gastronomic treat. With just nine seats, dining at Hōseki is a unique experience, as Chef Masahiro Sugiyama bases his courses on the preferences of those seated at the counter, as well as on the freshest and best ingredients of the day, so no two meals are exactly alike—but every single one is an exceptional journey into the heart of Japan’s culinary tradition.

Ossiano – One Michelin Star

Ossiano Dubai is a progressive fine dining experience inspired by the ocean and seas. One of Dubai’s most immersive restaurants, it is underwater as stingrays, sharks and fish swim around it. Tasca by Jose Avillez – One Michelin Star

Located on the sixth floor of Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, Tasca is a restaurant by culinary genius José Avillez. Named after the Portuguese word for tavern, Tasca is José Avillez’s first international opening, following on behind the Michelin-starred Belcanto as well as his other celebrated ventures in Portugal.
