6 Landmark Projects Coming Soon to Saudi Arabia

With Vision 2030 well underway, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to develop key projects and new landmarks in line with its strategic objectives, ranging from urban landscapes to upcoming tourist destinations. There are a large number of projects currently in the pipeline, but here are six upcoming ones to look forward to.

Trojena

Trojena is an upcoming landmark in Saudi Arabia’s much-anticipated project, NEOM, that promises year-long activities and events. The area itself will be located on a mountainous terrain 50 kilometers from Aqaba coast. Its temperature can drop below zero, potentially making it ideal for winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and more.

The Line

The Line is a new city project that will link to NEOM's coastal area. As the name suggests, it will be a linear city landscape measuring 170 kilometers. The Line will be made up of walkable neighborhoods with a fast commute, parks, and harmony with nature, and has been designed to put technology at the forefront in solving some of the world's greatest challenges.

King Salman Park

King Salman Park, launched in 2019 under the patronage of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is a new landmark in Riyadh, and one of many to benefit from the Saudi Green Initiative. This 16-square kilometer space will offer visitors a green space, in addition to a social setting, a cultural space, a center for aspiring innovators, artists, and the youth, and a venue for sports and athletic activities.

Six Flags Qiddiya

When completed, Six Flags Qiddiya is set to be an unforgettable theme park in the region, taking up 79 acres of land. Situated on the outskirts of Riyadh, it will be divided into nine zones offering dozens of rides and attractions, including some record-breaking roller coasters, a water theme park, and more. Six Flags Qiddiya is expected to launch in 2023.

Project Sama

Technically, Project Sama isn't a geographical location; it’s a cruise ship. A joint venture between Cruise Saudi and Aman Resorts, the vessel will be an impressive 183 meter and offer 50 luxury suites, each with its own balcony, a variety of dining options, a club and lounge, a spa and Japanese garden, and even helipads. Indeed, the motor yacht has been designed to offer pioneering yachting experience to its passengers.
