It is a well-known fact that Dubai has become one of the top leading destinations for contemporary artists across the globe, with Art Dubai being one of the UAE's most renowned platforms that draws in top talent, as well as locals and tourists in the thousands. This is in addition to the many contemporary art spaces and districts the city has to offer, such as Alserkal Avenue where both aspiring and established artists can showcase their masterpieces to a wider audience. Carbon 12

Carbon 12 is one of Dubai's most well-known contemporary art spaces. It first started in 2008 and has since become renowned for showcasing a global program of institute-grade artists, plus eight annual exhibitions, and participating in international art fairs such as Art Cologne, ABC (Art Berlin Contemporary), VIENNAFAIR, and Art Dubai. It also takes part in publications and holds discussions with the public and educational institutions.

Green Art Gallery

Green Art Gallery is known for showcasing contemporary art that focus on rigorously researched projects, art that is idea-led and described as representative of “our current comment.” The space also partners with international exhibitions and art fairs, and continues to feature artworks by a multi-generational mix of artists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Asia, and other regions.

The Third Line

The Third Line features artwork by contemporary artists in the Middle East locally, regionally, and globally. It serves as a platform for both aspiring and established artists, while also building a dynamic program that explores the diversity of practice in the region. Furthermore, it engages in the production of art publications both in English and Arabic, and hosts numerous nonprofit, alternative programs that add to the discourse on the region's art, film, music, and literature.

Lawrie Shababi

Originally established as a contemporary art space for artworks by MENA artists, Lawrie Shababi that now focuses on showcasing works from many other regions and generations as well. It is also known for exploring the history and socio-political issues specific to the diasporic experience, as well as organizing art historical exhibitions, and collaborating with international museums.
