Café Kitsuné, Qatar

First opened in Paris in 2002, the French-Japanese coffee shop now has outlets across the globe in numerous cities including New York, Japan and Vancouver.

Coffee devotees will definitely enjoy the extensive coffee menu in Msheireb Downtown Doha. Café Kitsuné serves French and international classics with a Japanese twist.

Their menu features egg sandos, tuna croque-monsieur with lemongrass and ginger, and a Kitsuné burger bursting with teriyaki sauce. It also offers sweet treats such as matcha croissants and brownies, and off course the iconic fox shortbread, a nod to its logo. Aside from coffee and goodies, there is also a shopping area selling Café Kitsuné objects such as a limited-edition capsule collection with an exclusive Doha-inspired print from graphic designer Michal Loba. The location offers an atmosphere based on minimalism and simplicity that is sure to impress most coffee aficionados.

Choo Café, London

Jimmy Choo has just launched a pop-up café inside Harrods’ famous shoe heaven on the fifth floor, making it the new summer hotspot for bloggers and shoe lovers. It offers teas, coffees and elegant bites, all served on gold-accented, branded tableware. Furnished in Jimmy Choo’s signature fuchsia, the design is borrowed from the Varenne Avenue Collection of handbags launching this autumn and features a modern art deco style creating a dynamic interior with a hint of glamour and pops of gold and plush pink carpeting. The cuisine at the new Choo Café is based on fresh summer season British finger foods. On the savory side, the menu offers a selection of sandwiches filled with roasted vegetables or cured meats, as well as open-faced choux crostinis. As for the sweet bites, imagine delicacies like raspberry croissants, strawberry eclairs, pink champagne and summer berry jelly. Make sure to order rose tea, monogrammed latte or a ‘JC’ dusted strawberry cream cake, all terribly delish and very photogenic.

1921 Gucci Cafe, Shanghai

Gucci decided to extend its luxury expertise to the food & beverage industry by opening the 1921 Gucci Cafe, the world’s first Gucci restaurant, in the heart of Shanghai. Located on the fourth floor of the IAPM luxury shopping mall straight above the Gucci retail store, the venue features a chocolate bar offering homemade cakes, a designated coffee area, and a fine-dining restaurant with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the Huaihai Zhong road. The ambiance is very cozy. Contemporary furnishings are used all elegantly designed with the 1921 Gucci logo that is discreetly used to embellish menus, cutlery and napkins. The restaurant offers a wide variety of international cuisines, curated by Chef Giuliano Dacasto. It is clear that the modern and bustling city of Shanghai is now the best place to enjoy a full Gucci experience in true Italian style.

Café Leon Dore, New York

Luxury streetwear labels have also have jumped aboard the restau-café bandwagon, such as Aimé Leon Dore. The brand opened its coffee shop, Café Leon Dore within its NYC flagship store which also offers an outdoor seating area. The brand has grown into a cult favorite serving its clientele from around the world in its warm wooded space. The cafe includes a curated menu inspired by Greek culture. Delicious Freddo Espresso and Freddo Cappuccino, two frothy iced espresso drinks, are among the tastiest drinks to order. You will also find an assortment of Greek pastries and grocery items. Located in New York and now newly opened in Soho, London, the café is based on the same principles as Aimé Leon Dore: embodying community through meticulous craft and taste, with a clear and authentic point of view.

Café Saint Laurent Rive Droite, Paris

“A destination for creativity and culture.” This is how Anthony Vaccarello, creative director of Saint Laurent, described the luxury label’s new store concept. Yves Saint Laurent opened its Café Saint Laurent Rive Droite, near its concept store, located on 29 Rue Juillet in Paris’ 1st arrondissement. Baristas are ready to serve à la carte products against a background of electronic music. The stunning black marble counter sits beneath a white and red neon sign expressing: “Addicted to Love”. The gluten-free cookies from the Chambelland bakery stand out, as do the croissants from Maison d'Isabelle. Customers are able to enjoy a coffee in the label’s signature cups, each carrying a QR code which gives access to the week’s playlist. It is intended for Saint Laurent fashion lovers who want to treat themselves to a branded experience worth a selfie.

Bar Luce, Milan

A favorite spot in Milan for an espresso and biscotti, or an aperitivo, is Bar Luce, designed by the film director Wes Anderson for Prada. It feels like walking onto one of his film sets with the bar featuring Anderson’s signature pastel shades. The space includes quirky details, color-blocked Formica tables, candy-colored chairs, vintage wallpaper, and even pinball machines. The label is another luxury fashion brand bringing its creative art into the culinary world. The venue is situated in the art and culture complex Fondazione Prada. Beige by Alain Ducasse, Tokyo

This restaurant is a collaboration between Alain Ducasse, the leading chef in French cuisine, and the renowned fashion brand, Chanel. The restaurant is named after one of Coco Chanel's favorite colors and the decor designed by Peter Marino is based on her famous tweed textile. Its interior is contemporary and elegant inviting customers to relax and enjoy genuine French food with the finest Japanese ingredients. In charge of the kitchen is chef Kei Kojima who incorporates a Japanese approach while following the path of ‘Ducasseism’, such as making use of the fragrance of charcoal.
