The Fourth ‘TommyXGigi’ Collection Amps up Racetrack Style

Ever since they teamed up in 2016, Tommy Hilfiger and Gigi Hadid have been unstoppable. And they got our hearts racing once again as we saw their Formula One-inspired pieces zoom down the runway while closing Milan Fashion Week.

The spring 2018 “TommyxGigi” capsule collection is the reigning model’s fourth collaboration with the designer. The 22-year-old California native with a sunny disposition, who is also the Tommy Hilfiger global womenswear brand ambassador, went for bold yet relaxed looks. From the track- inspired patterns, like the black and white check, and athletic colour blocking in red, white and blue, to the edgy leather jackets or biker trousers and crop tops, the collection captures the all-American designer’s love of motor sports and the model’s jet-set lifestyle.  

As well as women’s apparel, with timeless classics like oversized outerwear, tailored jeans, sporty active wear and feminine dresses, the collection features footwear, accessories (oh, those fingerless gloves), swimwear, sunglasses and watches. And it’s the details like graphic badges, embroidered speed logos, gold zippers and contrasting stitching and piping that add those all-important finishing touches to Hadid’s playful and cool millennial twist on athleisure.

 “Every capsule collection that Tommy and I have designed together mixes my personal style with the brand’s Americana heritage,” said Hadid, who never fails to remind the world of her half-Palestinian heritage.  “The spring 2018 designs are completely different from anything else we have created, and I can’t wait to see fans around the world put their unique twist on each look.”
